As our Project Coordinator, you are the critical link between our clients’ visions and our production floor’s reality. You are a "translator" who turns vague requests into precise shop orders. This is a high-volume, technical position for a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives when the pace is fast and the specs are complex. You will be working in a small office setting with a dynamic group of friendly people in Agawam.
Responsibilities
- Convert client needs into clear production instructions for the bindery and print teams.
- Workflow Management: Own the lifecycle of 10–50+ active orders simultaneously, from order placement through finishing and delivery.
- Technical Oversight: Review shop orders for accuracy in paper types, quantities, and finishing processes (i.e. cutting, folding, perfect binding, coil, saddle stitch).
- Proactive Problem Solving: Spot "file-to-finish" issues which may include bad bleeds, unrealistic deadlines, specification mismatches before production.
- Manage the delays, errors, and pricing changes—with a calm, professional demeanor.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred
- 2+ Years Experience in a production or manufacturing-based customer service role, preferably in print / publishing industry.
- Experience in a bindery and have technological expertise that allows you to learn complex manufacturing processes at high volume and quick turnaround times.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows under tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented mindset: You catch the quantity mismatch or the binding inconsistency that others miss. You rely on systems and checklists, not just your memory.
- Ownership Mentality: You work with customers proactively and own the job from receipt until it’s in the customer's hands.
- Maintains composure and sound judgment in high-pressure situations, ensuring consistent and effective decision-making.
- Comfortable navigating ERP/MIS systems and professional communication tools (Email, Video, Excel).
- Demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills, effectively navigating candid production feedback and addressing client concerns with professionalism.
- Possess exceptional written / verbal communication skills; this will be utilized via both phone and email.
- Bonus: Prepress knowledge (PDFs, trim, bleed), experience with Print MIS software, or logistics/shipping coordination, and excellent Excel skills.
- Be able to work in our Agawam, MA office, with the ability to walk our production floor. After your 90 day introductory period, you may be allowed to work from home 2 - 3 days per month.
Salary Range: This position has a salary range of $50,000 - $52,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on qualifications and level of experience. Bridgeport National Bindery, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits offering. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the following month of employment.
